Crystal and Ne-Yo got hitched in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, on 20 February 2016, which was managed by L.A. florist Empty Vase Events. The wedding ceremony included an 18-person wedding party and 6 feet royal cake.

However, the duo ended their almost four years of long courtship on 16 February 2020. As per the news published by E-News! on 16 February 2020, Ne-Yo himself confirmed on one of the episodes of the Private Talk With Alexis Texas podcast that he and Crystal had split and decided to end the marriage.
Ne-Yo even claimed that he respected her, but the marriage failed as their bad sides didn't match.

Crystal is blessed with two sons from her ex-husband, Ne-Yo. Her first son named Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr., was born on 15 March 2016.
