Greg was dating a British Labour Party politician Liz Kendall. The pair lived together for several years. In May 2015, Greg's longtime partner, Liz revealed that she was no more in a relationship with the British actor. She announced her intention to run Labour leadership and told she was not a sort of politician to stuff about private life. Liz added that she wants to have personal space and privacy is precious to her. 

His ex-partner, Liz also confirmed that they parted their ways in good terms and will remain good friends. Although she announced their separation, Liz wished Greg 'Happy Birthday' on 14 May 2015. She said her ex-partner turned 47 in an interview with Wales Online.

In the BBC Three British sitcom series Cuckoo, English actress Helen Baxendale played the on-screen wife of Greg Davies. Helen starred the role of Lorna Thompson, and Greg played Ken Thompson. They also shared on-screen daughter Rachel Thompson in the series. English actress Tamla Kari played the role of their on-screen daughter.

In an interview with Mirror in September 2012, Greg dissed his on-screen wife and said that whenever he mentioned his screen wife is Helen Baxendale, many people laughed. Greg also labeled his married status with Helen was only on-screen, and if he were married to her in real life, it would be 'ridiculous.' However, Greg said bedroom scenes with Helen was fun, and when he was dreading over kiss scene, Helen put her at ease.

He also revealed that he had a girlfriend but didn't have plans to become a father. But the British comedian has not announced the details of his mentioned girlfriend. As of June 2018, he is reportedly unmarried.

Greg's family had a Welsh root, but his father brought him in Shropshire. His father died in 2015, and it became a challenging year for Greg. He defines his dad as the 'funniest person he has ever met.'
