The Shetland actress is dating the Belgium skydiver, Davy Crocket. Julie and Davy started dating in May 2015 on a film set after the death of her husband, Joseph Bennett. On 29 May 2018, Davy shared a picture with his partner and celebrated three years of togetherness.

Talking to The Sun magazine in February 2016, Julie praised her partner. The actress said that Davy is lovely, gorgeous and always makes her happy. She admitted that meeting somebody was the last thing she wanted to do since she was unwavering to spend some time on herself.

Julie also revealed about the hardship she faced over the years from her husband’s death. On the positive note, the actress was pleased to be a part of the British sitcom, Benidorm where she depicted the role of Sheron Dawson.

Her boyfriend has always been cordial with his two step-children, Edie May and Cyd Betty Bennett from Julie's relationship with her late husband. The skydiver shared a picture with his step-daughters with a caption, 'me happy' on his Instagram on 3 April 2016.

Julie's Husband Commits Suicide, Recovers From Tragic Loss

Julie's husband, Joseph committed suicide by hanging himself in April 2015. His body was found hanging on 13 April in Richmond Park, south-west London. His death marked the end of their 13 years of married life. 

Julie and her late husband, Joseph met in a stage play in 2001 when they played as brother and sister. After eight months, Joseph proposed the actress and they shared the wedding vows in 2002. The couple had two children; Edie (born on 4 February 2004) and Cyd (born on 3 March 2006).

The family held a private funeral for their loved one. Julie had never released any personal statement of her husband’s death. She recovered from the tragic loss, and just one month later, she returned to the set of Benidorm.

Family Life; Mourns Mother's Death

Her mother, Betty raised the actress as a single parent. As per Hello Magazine, her mother, the married writer David Webster. But, Betty died of lung cancer when Julie was in her late teens, six months after being diagnosed, at the age of 50. In one of her interviews, Survivors actress said that,

"I was 18 and I felt utterly destroyed. I didn't have the emotional mechanism to deal with a loss of this magnitude."

The actress encouraged herself and shifted to London after her mother's demise to pursue a career in acting. 

In an interview with Express in March 2014, the Benidorm revealed that her biggest regret was not being with his mother when she took her last breath.
