Bruce Flatt is a CEO as well as Director and Senior Managing Partner at the Brookfield Asset Management Inc. He joined Brook field in 1990 and became the CEO of the company in 2012. Under his leadership, the company has developed a global presence in over 30 countries.

Bruce is also Cheif Executive Officer at Brookfield Asset Management Oic Canada (since 2002), and Timberlands Management LP. Besides, Bruce has worked on the board for 'Brookfield Properties Corp.,' 'Fraser Papers, Inc,' 'Norbord Inc,' and 'Norbord Inc,' Falconbridge Ltd, 'New GGP.'

At the age of 25, Bruce was hired Brascan in 1990, which was later renamed to 'Brookfield Asset Management.". While working for the company, he eventually gained the vice-president's position at its merchant bank. Later, Bruce became a Cheif Executive Officer & Senior Managing partner for 'Brookfield Asset Management' in 2012.

As being the CEO of Brookfield Asset Management, Bruce manages Brookfield's approximately $330 billion in assets in 400 million square feet of commercial space where he holds 18.2 million shares. His focus on buying quality assets at value prices has made him the top player in the asset management game. 

Besides earnings, Bruce had two-bedroom co-op at 165 Duane street, which he sold for $1.87 million in 2012; he had bought the property for $1.7 million in 2007.

Bruce was previously married in 1993. But the relationship didn’t work out, and they parted their ways after two years in 1995. He didn’t have any children from the marriage. 

After the divorce, Bruce began dating an art adviser and socialite Lonti Ebers in 2010 and later got married.

His wife Lonti is a vice-president museum’s board of the New Museum in New York, she has also made donations for the museum’s expansion and has been a longtime supporter of the museum.

Moreover, his art-adviser wife also launched two artist residency programs in 2018, one in 'Brooklyn’s Bushwick' and the second in the 'Italian village of Chiusure.'

Family, Education

Bruce comes from a well-established family background. His father was an executive at a mutual fund company in Manitoba for 43 years. 

Bruce attended the University of Manitoba to be an accountant. He graduated from the university in 1985—passed his accounting exam, scoring the second-highest in the province.
