Career and Progression:

His first brush with his career as a sportswriter was for the now-defunct, Chicago's American newspaper. Soon after a few confrontations in 1968, Musburger began his association with CBS, as a sports anchor for WBBM radio. Afterward moving towards Los Angeles and anchored news and sports for KNXT, as a co-anchor to Connie Chung until he joined full time in 1980.

His association with The NFL Today was the reason for making him famous today. His accompanying intro to each visual, "You are looking live at..” became one of the world most classic quotes. In 1990 due to CBS management change, Brent was fired the early morning hours of April 1. He soon had an offer to move back to Chicago as ABC’s top broadcaster covering mainly college football and basketball. In 2017, Brent announced that he would be retiring from play-by-play broadcasting.
