Netflix is releasing Reginald Hudlin’s documentary about Clarence Avant on 7 June 2019, which features interviews with Snoop Dogg, P. Diddy, David Geffen, and Clive Davis. Also, the former President of the USA, Barack Obama has appeared in the documentary.
The documentary surrounds the real-life story of Clarence, the music executive, who served as a manager of jazz artists in the 1950s. Similarly, it plots the history of producing black-oriented theater productions and films.

Clarence Avant, age 88, relishes the longterm relationship with his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Alberta Gray, who is the former president of the Neighbors of Watts in 1975. His spouse, Jacqueline also serves on board of directors of the International Student Center at UCLA.
The duo dated for a few times before they shared their wedding vows in 1967. After savoring the married life for a year, the duo was blessed their first child, Nicole Avant on 6 March 1968. Similarly, they also share their son, Alexander Dubois Avant who was born on 3 August 1971.
His daughter, Nicole served as the United States Ambassador to the Bahamas from 2009–2011. She is married to her husband, Ted Sarandos, who is a Netflix chief content officer.
