Career as Hunter and Guide!

At the age of 18, he realized that he didn’t want to live life a robot in a factory. He was born to explore the beauty and thrill of Alaska filled with hidden dangers. He then decided to spend his life in Alaska and one day die in the never ending chilling of Alaska. Erik is a self-sufficient man and hunts the every piece of flesh he eats and utilizes rest for clothing and tools.

He is a registered guide, pilot, and has a degree in Natural Resources. He runs a lodge named Talarik Creek Lodge with his wife, Maratha Salitan. His long experience in Alaska and detailed knowledge of topography helped him and his wife grab one of the six characters in documentary series Life Below Zero. The show which had the likes of veteran Sue Aikens, Agnes Hailstone, Glenn Villeneuve, Jessie Holmes, and Andy Bassich. He brings a youthful vibe to the show which showcases the day-to-day struggle of the characters to survive in the Alaska.
