Wife Works With His Rival Channel

Huw is married to former BBC Producer, Vicky Flind. The pair’s initial meeting was back in the days when Huw worked as a BBC correspondent at Westminster. However, both the husband and wife remain low-key to reveal any relevant information about their matrimony. Huw shares five children; three sons named Dan, Amos and Sammy and two daughters, Hannah and Rebecca Edwards with his beloved spouse.

His wife was a long-time editor of The Week Politics Show on the BBC Network.

However, she left the network back in 2016 to ally with Robert Peston ITV’s program, Peston on Sunday. Huw and Robert had worked for a decade at BBC, and his exit from the network in 2015 brought bitter rivalry between the duo.

Huw salary decreased after 20% remuneration cut, which is equivalent to around £120,000 a year at BBC. He was reportedly earning a stupendous salary between £550,000 and £599,000. However, after gender pay inequality, he agreed to a pay cut in June 2018.

Huw was listed as one of the highest earning BBC reporters. However, after his pay cut, he is entitled to a wage package of £450,000. The BBC had also proposed an agreement rule of £320,000 pay cap on its news readers after the altercation over gender pay inequality.

His mother, Aerona Protheroe was a teacher and taught at the bilingual school named Llanelli's Ysgol Gyfun y Strade for over three decades. It is reported that Huw shed three stone (42 pounds) from his new boxing workout classes with former Light welterweight boxer, Clinton McKenzie. According to The Sun, Huw weight dropped from 16 stone to 13 stone.
