Pete and Judy together have three kids: a daughter named Emily Nelson and their twin sons Charlie Nelson and Henry Nelson. Emily was born in the year 1990 whereas their twin sons were born in 1992. Henry, who is also the founder of Nelson Treehouse and Supply, was born on 8 May 1992.

The family of five have appeared in Treehouse Masters. When their kids were small, Judy was not excited living in a tree house, which Pete had built in Colorado Springs. Pete had constructed the tree house in Colorado when he and Judy were college students.
