The romance also faced some tougher times as they went through a long-distance relationship for two years. Finally, Matthew proposed Rebecca by getting down on one knee in December 2010 and ended their long-distance. 

Eventually, the wedding took place on the 28th of January 2012 at the McNamara Alumni Center in Minneapolis.

She is the daughter of James T. Jarvis and Gail Marks Jarvis. Her father is a lawyer and business consultant, whereas her mother is a finance columnist of the Chicago Tribune.

Rebecca joined the University of Chicago and gained a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Law, Letters & Society in 2003.

She then attended Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and the Université Paris-Dauphine in Paris, France, and studied International Business and Economics.

Rebecca commenced working as a trader at Citigroup's foreign exchange desk in London in the summer of 2003. Soon after that, she worked as an Analyst for Bank of America from 2003 to 2005. 

Later, in 2006, she left the bank to serve as a Writer for the Crain's Chicago Business and Business 2.0. And she worked for less than a year in this company.
