His Bio (Family)
Son to a Dominican father, who worked in a construction site, and a Puerto-Rican mother, Romeo Santos was born on 21 July 1981 in the Bronx. He has an elder sister Laura, who has worked for him as his personal manager.
With the poor economic condition of the family and insufficient means to survive in the family, Santos joined a church choir at the age of 13 and discovered his vocal skills. He gradually started singing in streets and became popular among the Dominican-American Youths.
Eventually, he became the lead vocalist of the band Aventura. In 2002, one of their song from the album Obsession'broke the charts and turned them into one of the most celebrated young ensembles in New York. Later, in 2009, the band was also called to perform in the White House for U.S. President Barack Obama.
However, the band dismantled in 2011, and Romeo started his solo career. At present, he has got 4 albums to his name, including Formula,Vol.1( topped Hot Latin Songs and Tropical songs charts, 2012), Formula, Vol. 2 (best selling Latin album, 2014), Golden (2017) and Utopia (reached no.1 in US Latin charts 2019).
