Roy's revolutionary cooking involves the mixing of Mexican and Korean dishes to create something extraordinary. Since 2019, he with Jon Favreau has been running the cooking show The Chef Show for the Netflix network.

Bio & Age
The Chef show star was born on 24 February 1970 to his father Soo Myung Choi and mother Jai Nam Choi in Seoul, South Korea. He was just two years old when his parents ventured the USA. They tried various business like a liquor store, dry cleaning store, and a Korean restaurant named Silver Garden in Anaheim, California, where his mother’s Kimchi was a popular dish in the community. Roy’s parents started a jewelry business in Orange County, California.
During the young age, Roy started doing drugs and was sent to Military School. On his educational odyssey, he got his BAchelor’s Degree in Philosophy from California State University. He even attended Western State University for pursuing a career in the lawsuit but dropped out of the university in the first semester.
In 1996, he decided to pursue his career in culinary arts inspired by Emeril Lagasse's Essence of Emeril. He even claimed that he is grateful to Emeril for saving his life as he was going through a dark period of his life involved in drugs, gambling, marijuana and with no vision for the foreseeable future. He attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York at the age of 24.
Career & Net Worth
Roy started his journey in the culinary world since the 1990s after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America(CIA). Initially, he started working for Hilton Hotels after the dedication he was recognized for his talent and promoted within the company as chef de cuisine at the Beverly Hilton in 2007.
But, unfortunately, he got fired from the company in 2008, but he hadn't given any statement regarding his termination from the hotel. After being jobless at the age of 38, he was unsure of his next action and applied on various companies even if he had lower his standards down.
Suddenly, everything changed when he decided to launch his Kogi company with his former co-worker Mark Manguera and his wife Caroline Shin-Manguera in 2008. His food truck business started to get recognition and became people’s favorite in a short period.
The Chef show star expanded his business with launching restaurants on different locations based on Los- Angelos like Sunny Spot, A-Frame, IHOP, pot and another restaurant named Best Friend in Las Vegas. His cooking styles takes fusing of Mexican and Korean dishes into consideration to create some fantastic recipes.
