Talking about her movie, Logan, Dafne was bundles of nerves and excitement before her audition with Hugh and the film’s director, James Mangold.
For her audition scene, the young age actress had been wearing a new watch but did not know how it functioned. She had to perform a scene with Hugh where he was to grab her wrist, and everytime the actor touched her wrist, the watch beeped.
Dafne was embarrassed to announce that it was her watch beeping, and remained knowingly unnoticed about the sound. After numerous takes where her watch would continuously beep on Hugh's touching Hugh finally asked her, 'Is that your watch?' She replied 'yes,' and the whole of the sets was in tatters and started to chuckle.
From then onwards, she was very much comfortable with the acclaimed actor, and also built an offscreen rapport with him. Their relationship went from strength to strength from the incident, is evident in the every movie frame they appear.
Dafne and Hugh's relationship flourished to such a level that she calls him her dad. She recently shared a picture along with Hugh on her Instagram feed on 17 August 2018 and wrote, Miss you, my on-screen dad.
