The graduate from the University of Pretoria got his degree in Business Management and Economics. Eugene then started his successful career in the corporate world where he developed software for the financial trading. After having a successful career, he wanted to combine his management skills with his love for the outdoors. This interest and passion led him towards building Chimp Eden in the association with Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) in South Africa in 2006.
Cussons worked as the Managing Director of the Chimp Eden as well as the Rescue Director of JGI. After years of rescuing chimpanzee in a war zone like Sudan and Angola, he decided to resign from the Chimp Eden on 1st January 2013.
