Isha attended for her high school education at Fourah Bay School, later in 1992 at the age of sixteen she backed to England for College. She joined A-Levels and completed her A-Levels, and she got a chance to study at Trinity College, Cambridge, she studied English in that college. Isha started her career as a researcher in the BBC, UK talks show Kilroy. After success in BBC, she hired in Sky networks as an anchor of 'Good Morning Sports Fan' in 2002. After spent her earlier three years in Sky Network, she joined CNN in 2005 as an anchor and correspondent. She also becomes the presenter of the International Desk in 2009, which the program was weekday news program. In 2011 she joined the program BackStory in the CNN network. Isha started to work for HLN network since 2012.
She has been working at CNN for more than one decade and has worked on several TV networks. With a prolific career, Sesay is now enjoying a highly paid salary and good net worth. According to Payscale, an average salary of the CNN journalist is $67K.
In August 2018, Isha Sesay announced that she was leaving CNN, after working there for 13 years as an anchor and correspondent of the international media organization.

Isha Sesay has been married to Leif Coorlim, award-winning journalist and executive editor of the CNN Freedom Project. She and her longtime boyfriend, Leif, got engaged to each other on 5 January 2013. After seven months of engagement, the pair shared the wedding vows on 17 August 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. The marriage ceremony was held in Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

After their marriage, the PEOPLE Magazine asked her how she was feeling after tying the knot with the persona she loved. Smiling with happiness, she replied,
"Our day exceeded my wildest dreams, it was magical. When I saw Leif standing at the end of the aisle, I felt as if my heart would explode. I married the man of my dreams in front of the people we care about the most. And then we partied the night away."
After eight months of nuptial, her husband surprised her and revealed about the place where they were going on their honeymoon. Though the couple was married, they are in no hurry to welcome kids.

However, as of 2018, it seems like her relationship with Leif isn't going as smooth as expected. On 22 April 2018, in one of her tweets, she mentioned her ex-hubby. Within no time, her Twitter was flooded with the queries of her fans where they asked her whether she is divorced with her husband, Leif, or not. However, hasn't yet confirmed about her divorce with her hubby and neither has made any comment regarding her relationship with him.
