Susan works in the National Security in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution. Before this, she handled the legislation of National Security Agency.
Susan's Education and Career Achievements
The security expert got a JD from Harvard Law School and attended the University of California where she got a B.A. At a young age she proved how useful a student’s writing could be. She is the managing editor of Lawfare blog; she started contributing in it since her early days in Havard. It is the blog that deals with the cybersecurity and surveillance in the community.
The editor, at the age of 33, is a Fellow in National Security in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution. Susan has also worked as an attorney for the Office of General Counsel of the NSA. Her job was to advise on operational matters related to Information Assurance and Cybersecurity and handled some of the legislative affairs.
Susan's Wedding Details; Supportive Parents
Susan is married to Brendan Hennessey, a professor of Italian studies at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. They exchanged their vows on 20 June 2009 at Point Reyes Station, California and was officiated by James Richardson.
During the wedding ceremony, the bride walked down the aisle with her parents, and her sisters served as the bridesmaids while the nieces of the groom were the flower girls. The groom’s brother acted as the best man and bride’s nephew as the ring bearer. After getting married Susan adopted her husband's family name.
After the big day, the couple went on a wedding trip to Phuket, Thailand. The pair settled in Cambridge, Mass after welcoming a baby boy.
She is found talking more about her parents than husband on the public. She frequently makes tweets to appreciate her parents. She is born to a lawyer and fed judge parents. She gives the credit of her successful career to both her parents. Her father helped her get the job and was a source of professional inspiration. She says she could not have moved steps further in her job without her mother who convinced her that she could be anything she wanted.
At the time when she has to spend a long time on her work, her mother retired and moved to her place to take care of the baby so that she did not have to choose between her family and career.
