However, the duo's relationship didn't long last and had a split. The reason behind the couple's separation was a mystery until Teresa revealed the secret in an exclusive interview with DailyMail in March 2016, where she shared the truth about her seven-year-long married life with Todd.
She revealed that Todd battered her after striping her nacked. Not just that, he also had threatened to kill her wielding a knife. Teresa finally left the marital home taking Kyle, intending to bring five-year-old Lindsie with her who was with Todd’s parents at the time. Thus, Teresa filed for divorce from Michael Todd Chrisley in April of 1995 after the domestic violence.

Lindsey had filed a police report stating that her dad, Todd, and stepbrother were threatening and planned to extort her with a sex tape if she didn’t lie about a particular incident. And it was later reported that the man on the sex tape was Robby Hayes.
Robby later claimed that he was indeed the man in the tape and that he had evidence regarding the fact that he and Lindsey were being coerced. Reports by the FBI stated that they were currently investigating the incident.
