Voletta Wallace's only son, The Notorious B.I.G was shot to death on 9 March 1997, in Los Angeles, California. The late rapper was brought down at the age of 24 after a driver in a Chevrolet Impala fired four bullet shots. His fellow rapper, Sean John Combs, known as P. Diddy, and former Death Row Records CEO, Suge Knight were alleged to be involved in the murder.
Voletta on her son’s 20th death anniversary spoke to the Dailymail in March 2017 and said she could not control her emotion of losing her only child. She revealed that she gets hurt every single day. During the interview, she also accused that she and the Los Angeles Police Department know about the murders, but the conspiracy theory prevented the conclusion of the high-profile murder case.
According to the 2016 reports of Hiphopdx, the former LAPD detective Greg Kading said that Voletta knew the actual killers of her son were P.Diddy and Suge Knight.
However, some reports also suggested that the murders intended to shoot Sean Combs (P. Diddy) as a revenge plot after Suge Knight's close ally Tupac was shot dead six months ago.

On the other hand, the family members demanded the legal body to end the high-profile case on 17 August 2005, which accused that LAPD incompetency led to the mystery over Christopher's death. They even accused that LAPD failed to protect the late rapper and claimed that his civil rights were infringed as police were aware of the threats on the rapper,
To their respond, the city officials told there wasn't sufficient proof to justify the families accusations.
