Mimi Rocah served as a clerk for the Honorable John Gleeson, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Mimi then worked as a litigation associate at Cravath, Swain, and Moore, which is law firm. Then from 2001 to 2017, she served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York. As an Attorney, she prosecuted and investigated numerous cases including several criminal cases.
She then moved on and plied her trade as the Southern District's Chief of the Organized Crime and Racketeering Unit and doubled up as the Chief of the General Crimes and Narcotics Units. She has won many awards including 2016 Women In Federal Law Enforcement Leadership Award as a prosecutor.
