In an interview with Essence on 5 September 2018, Woody expressed his concern about depicting Bobby's affair with Janet onscreen. However, he revealed that Bobby urged him to portray the affair as he wanted the world to know his side of the story.
Bobby claimed that Janet was already engaged to get married when she has an affair with him. He also accused that Janet didn't take him seriously because he was a "dark-skinned Black man."
Well, Janet is yet to release her official statement to the matter.
The recent biopic also travels back in time to reveal Bobby's married to Whitney Houston. The biopic describes tumultuous togetherness plagues with infidelity, drug abuse, and domestic violence.
Bobby's wife, Whitney lost her life in April 2012 and was discovered lifeless in a bathtub.

"So I'm not even mad that this happen. I'm actually happy. So I want my little African-American brothers, listen Y'all gotta understand this is not a joke. It's not sensitive, it's not funny no more. So yeah."
As of now, he is to reveal his girlfriend's name and his dating status. However, he often mentions a girlfriend in his tweet.
